Activities, exhibitions and projects

The exhibition CARMEN CALVO: EVERYTHING COMES FROM UNREASON (1969-2016), at Comunidad de Madrid's exhibition hall Sala Alcalá 31, is a review of Calvo's practice, the National Plastic Arts Prize awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain (2013).

Predicated on an anthological gaze over her work, with a particular focus on pieces which were included in the exhibition “New Images from Spain” at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in 1980, this show will take us on a canonical and impure walkthrough of the work of this influential artist, coupled with some of her seminal large-format creations. The catalogue includes essays by Valeriano Bozal and the exhibition curator Alfonso de la Torre.
