Mujeres en las Artes Visuales

MAV, the Association of Women in the Visual Arts, is a group of professionals related to the visual arts field in Spain;

artists, critics, managers, curators, gallery owners, collectors, designers, teachers, directors of public institutions, editors, researchers, specialist journalists, architects, lawyers etc., who work to improve the visibility and equal rights of women in our society, and more specifically in the field of visual arts.

MAV launched its own initiatives such asthe M-arte y cultura visualmagazine, specializing in art criticism from a gender perspective; the MAV awards, created in 2010; the MAVeducaLAB Art Education Workshops for Equality; and the editing of reports and publications.

MAV has also organised three editions of its FORUM: FMM2015, in Barcelona and Madrid; FMM2017, in Madrid and Seville; and FMM2019, in Vitoria and Madrid. This event is an opportunity to share ideas and projects with other feminist art associations from Spain and across the globe.
