Mujeres en las Artes Visuales

MAV, the Association of Women in the Visual Arts, is a group of professionals related to the visual arts field in Spain;

artists, critics, managers, curators, gallery owners, collectors, designers, teachers, directors of public institutions, editors, researchers, specialist journalists, architects, lawyers etc., who work to improve the visibility and equal rights of women in our society, and more specifically in the field of visual arts.

MAV launched its own initiatives such as the M-arte y cultura visual magazine, specializing in art criticism from a gender perspective; the MAV awards, created in 2010; the MAVeducaLAB Art Education Workshops for Equality; and the editing of reports and publications.

A team, formed by the Board and a group of members of MAV has organized the Biennal with the support of the State's Secretary of Culture  and  the Regional Government of Madrid.
